The Greene County baseball team kicked off their season last week with two games.

On May 16, the Rams traveled to Denison High School where they faced the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs.

The Rams got no runners across home plate in the first or second innings, but had one run in the third and fourth. The two Ram runs weren’t enough to top the Monarchs, who had 14 runs in four innings.

Justin Stream and Joe Carey were responsible for the two runs for the Rams. Stream had two singles at bat, with Noble Hoyt hitting a base hit. Kole Teeples had a double for the night.

On May 19, the Rams hosted the Carroll Tigers, winning 8-7. The Tigers scored the first run of the night, and the Rams responded in the second inning with two runs of their own. Two runs were scored by the Tigers in the fourth inning, answered by four by the Rams. The teams battled back and forth, sitting at a 7-7 tie at the bottom of the eighth. The Rams managed to keep the Tigers from scoring in the ninth, and scored one of their own, taking the win. No stats were available for the Rams.
